FineTobaccoNYC

FineTobaccoNYC is an organization dedicated to hosting social events for fine tobacco lovers all over New York City.  We organize, manage, and host free, exclusive events for cigar and pipe smokers  in the city to smoke fine tobacco, meet new people, and make new friends. FineTobaccoNYC also provide NYC cigar and pipe enthusiasts with information on local venues, cigar deals, cigar reviews, and New York tobacco related politics. Imagine the New York City Cigar Club, just with a more creative name.

Events take place about every three weeks, though we may experience more or less events as times and weather change throughout the year. If you are interested in attending a FineTobaccoNYC event, just add your name to the event mailing list on the form below:

A Bit About FineTobaccoNYC and the Owner

New York is not a smoker-friendly city.  Smoking laws have turned smokers into second class citizens, city regulations impede smoker-friendly establishments, and it is often difficult to find anywhere suitable to smoke a good cigar or pipe.

My name is Matthias, and I am studying political philosophy and economics in the city, though I originally hail from Portland, Oregon. I enjoyed my first quality cigar (Romeo y Julieta – Reserve Real) about three years ago, and ever since have been fascinated by the history, culture, and enjoyment of cigars and pipe tobacco. I very quickly became bothered by the legal and cultural hostility towards cigar and pipe smokers, as well as the fact that cigar stores in the city seem to be sparse, and places to enjoy them even more so.

I’ve been involved in the cigar culture of New York City ever since I started smoking, and have organized dozens of meetups for aficionados in the city, so I figured I would make my passion for organization more explicit with this organization.

This site is a natural extension of the love that I have for New York City and fine tobacco. I plan on staying the city as long as I can and enjoying every minute of it.
