Beatriz Garrido García Named Operational Marketing Director at Habanos S.A.

Corporación Habanos, S.A., the global distributor for Cuban cigars, has appointed Beatriz Garrido García as its new Operational Marketing Director.

Garrido’s career at Habanos S.A. began in 1997 when she joined as a Commercial Information Specialist in the Operational Marketing Division. Her journey within the company includes roles such as Market Intelligence Specialist in the Strategic Marketing Division in 2001 and Market Supervisor at Tabacalera S.L.U. in 2009, the official distributor of Habanos S.A. products in Spain.

In 2013, she transitioned into Commercial Management as an International Saleswoman, and later in 2017, she joined Phoenicia Trading, the distributor for Africa and the Middle East, as a Corporate Director. Her most recent position was Commercial Director at Cigarte Ibérica, an online retailer specializing in cigar accessories, based in Spain.

Habanos S.A. is a joint venture owned equally by the Cuban government and an ownership group that has undergone changes in name and country of registration since its acquisition from Imperial Brands, plc, as part of a $1.4 billion deal.

Matthias Clock: Brand evangelist, digital marketer, cigar and spirits expert specializing in consumer tasting and educational events. Matthias made the long trek from his hometown of Portland, Oregon to New York City in 2007, and in nine years has hosted more than 120 events and helped promote and launch dozens of cigar and whiskey brands in the U.S. In 2016, he joined the Cigar Journal Tasting Panel, blind-reviewing pre and new release cigars.
