Caldwell’s Long Live the King 11/07 Makes a Return in 2023

Cigar enthusiasts who recall the quiet release of Robert Caldwell’s Long Live the King 11/07 on his 40th birthday last year will be delighted to hear that it’s making a comeback. This week, the 11/07 cigar will once again grace the shelves, giving aficionados another chance to savor this special blend.

The Long Live the King 11/07 returns in a 6 x 54 size, often described as a “chubby toro” due to its unique taper. What’s particularly noteworthy this time is that it’s offered in two distinct blends, both exclusively crafted with Honduran tobacco. One of these blends features a habano maduro wrapper, while the other boasts a maduro oscuro wrapper infused with added ligero.

These blends were carefully rolled three years ago at the renowned Davidoff’s Diadema Cigars de Honduras S.A. factory, which is also known as the Camacho factory, located in Honduras.

Robert Caldwell emphasizes that these cigars were intentionally aged for three years, in contrast to the Lost & Found series. To provide some context, the traditional Long Live the King blend leans heavily on Dominican tobaccos.

For those eager to get their hands on these cigars, there are approximately 225 boxes of Long Live the King 11/07 Habano and 325 of the 11/07 Maduro available. Regardless of the blend, each Long Live the King 11/07 cigar is priced at $25 per cigar and is conveniently offered in boxes of 10 cigars.

Interestingly, both Robert Caldwell and his wife share the same birthday, November 7th, which adds a personal touch to this cigar’s story.

On September 29, 2023, Label 5 blended Scotch whisky introduced a limited edition variation of its Classic Black blend. This release, named the ‘Label 5 City Lights Edition,’ was created using Artificial Intelligence, resulting in a different label for each bottle.

The label design on each bottle of this City Lights release is a snapshot of a colorful, AI-generated cityscape captured at night. Each label features a unique section of this cityscape, chosen by an algorithm to ensure no two bottles share the same design.

Label 5 has a connection to urban life and has recently partnered with the global graffiti community. For instance, Label 5 sponsored this year’s Yardworks urban art and graffiti festival at SWG3 in Glasgow.

The ‘Label 5 City Lights Edition‘ is available in Morrisons stores across the United Kingdom. Customers who purchase a bottle can find their label design on the Label 5 skyline through the website https://www.label5-findyourlabel.com/.

Bocock Brothers Premium Cigars

Bocock Brothers Premium Cigars, following their partnership with AJ Fernandez on the Signature Edition release, has exciting news to share. They’ve joined forces with Tabacalera AJ Fernandez to rejuvenate their World Traveler Maduro line, aiming to introduce a fresh and unique blend.

The latest iteration of the World Traveler Maduro showcases a blend that features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, complemented by an Ecuadorian habano binder, and a blend of Nicaraguan fillers. This combination differs significantly from the original World Traveler Maduro, which was first unveiled in 2019. The initial version of the cigar incorporated a Nicaraguan wrapper, a Honduran-grown Connecticut-seed binder, and Nicaraguan fillers. Production of the original line was handled by the San Judas Tadeo factory in Honduras.

When discussing the transition to a new factory, Bocock Brothers, consisting of brothers Bryant and Doug Bocock, expressed the challenges they anticipated. However, they are confident in their decision and committed to upholding excellence in their products. They also praised Abdel Fernandez as a mentor throughout this process.

The updated World Traveler Maduro is available in three distinct sizes:

  • Robusto (5 x 50)
  • Toro (6 x 52)
  • Gordo (6 x 60)

Pricing for this revamped line falls within the range of $11.50 to $12 per cigar, and each size is presented in 20-count boxes. The new World Traveler Maduro blend is now ready for retailers to order.

CBT Cigar

C.L.E. Cigar Company is delighted to announce the official release of the Eiroa CBT 51, a limited-edition cigar blend created in celebration of Christian Eiroa’s 51st birthday. The cigar made its debut during an exclusive event at the PCA 2023 on July 9th, hosted at the Eight Lounge at Resorts World in Las Vegas.

The Eiroa CBT series was initially introduced in 2014, with CBT denoting capa, banda tripa maduro, signifying wrapper, binder, filler triple maduro. The newest addition, the Eiroa CBT 51, is distinguished by its unique size of 50 X 10 and features a flavor profile characterized by its smoothness and rich, robust notes of charred wood, pepper, espresso, and a long, bold, and meaty finish.

This cigar was crafted in secret by factory managers at Christian Eiroa’s factory in Danli, Honduras, and presented to him as a birthday gift during the event. Initially, only 300 cigars were produced, exclusively reserved for event attendees, including retailers, media representatives, colleagues, and associates. They gathered to celebrate and enjoy a selection of cocktails and C.L.E.’s finest cigar blends.

The response to the Eiroa CBT 51 during the event was overwhelmingly positive. This prompted C.L.E. Cigar Company to decide to produce a limited run of this unique vitola for the general public.

Christian Eiroa expressed his gratitude for the evening, stating, “What a special night. I wanted to thank everyone who attended, and a huge thank you to the C.L.E. Cigar Company team for creating this unique vitola of the Eiroa CBT, which is a favorite of mine. The response was so overwhelming from everyone who attended that we decided to create a limited run just for retailers who attended the event.”

The Eiroa CBT 51 is available in a vitola of 50 X 10 and is presented in 9 count boxes with an MSRP of $30.40.

Elements of Islay has released a new limited-edition whisky called Beach Bonfire, which is bottled at 54.5% ABV and captures the untamed spirit and terroir of Islay. Head Blender Oliver Chilton drew inspiration from a beach bonfire night, whee colors, smoke, flames, and sand intertwined to create a unique experience.

Beach Bonfire is matured in new oak, bourbon refill, and sherry casks, showcasing the brand’s dedication to crafting powerful, herbaceous Islay malts. The whisky is non-chill filtered and retains its natural color.

Beach Bonfire is priced at £79.95, $115.00, €85.00 for a 70cl bottle and will be available in key European markets in October 2023, with plans for expansion to Asia and the US in 2024. The whisky represents the first limited edition from Elements of Islay since the relaunch of its core range in 2022.

The tasting notes by Oliver Chilton, Head Blender, describe the whisky as having a nose of oyster shells and bonfire smoke blending with rich baking spices and subtle notes of cherry and tarragon. The palate features bourbon-soaked Amarena Cherries, baked vanilla pods, cinnamon, and light ginger, all surrounded by rich wood smoke. The finish is warm and long with more wood fire and soft brown sugar.
