Greenwich, Connecticut’s Tobacconist of Greenwich has unveiled its first cigar offering, the Rare Finds Blend 1011-42, crafted in collaboration with the renowned Kelner family of the Dominican Republic.

Known for their extensive collection of rare cigars, the tobacconist has a reputation for curating unique smoking experiences, and this latest release seems to follow in that tradition. The blend, while shrouded in secrecy, appears to have been produced at Kelner Cigars, S.A.S. in Santiago de los Caballeros, with Dominican tobaccos likely playing a significant role in the cigar’s makeup.

Klaas Kelner, who oversees the factory operations, is a descendant of Hendrik “Henke” Kelner and great-grandson of Klaas Pieter Kelner Sr. The Kelner family has deep roots in the Dominican tobacco industry, owning numerous farms throughout the country and having been instrumental in building Davidoff’s operations in the Dominican Republic.

The Rare Finds Blend 1011-42 is now available for preorder directly from the Tobacconist of Greenwich’s website, opening up the opportunity for cigar enthusiasts around the world to get their hands on this potentially limited edition cigar.

The Tobacconist of Greenwich has been a fixture in the cigar retail world since its founding in 1942 by Jimmy “Cigars” Lacerra. Over the years, it has grown from a local retailer to a global supplier of rare cigars, and it regularly hosts some of the most exclusive cigar events in the world. Their recent Opus Xodus event with Carlito Fuente Jr featured never-before-seen Arturo Fuente cigars, highlighting the tobacconist’s connections within the industry.
