Join Senor Cigar in the 2012 NY Kidney Walk
I received an important email yesterday from a good friend, Kevin (Senor Cigar) Bristow of New York’s Grown & Sexy in the City Cigar Group that I want to share with you. For the many of you that know Kevin, you know he is very active in the NYC cigar community, loves creating friendly social environments, and has a good heart (he also loves the Brick House, a great stick).
Anyway, please take a moment to read his email and even pass this page on to your friends, or copy/paste into your own emails.

In October of 2010 I began quite a journey. I began kidney dialysis treatment. On July 24, 2011 I was lucky enough to receive a kidney transplant at St. Luke’s Hospital in Harlem, New York. Now to celebrate my good fortune I will be walking in this years NY Kidney Walk. On Sunday October 14th I will be walking and hope you will walk with me as a member of TEAM SENOR CIGAR.
The numbers surrounding Chronic Kidney Disease are truly staggering:
• Every 5 minutes, someone in the U.S. experiences complete kidney failure.
• More than 87,000 are currently waiting for a kidney transplant.
• Every 2 hours, someone dies while waiting for a kidney.
• 382,000 depend on dialysis to stay alive.
• Early detection can help slow or prevent the progression of kidney disease to kidney failure.
• The National Kidney Foundation has provided free early detection screenings to 155,000 people at increased risk for CKD.
Our Kidney Walk Team has set a goal to raise at least $2000, and I am hoping you will join us. If you can’t walk with me I hope you can make a donation. Use the link to make a donation and/or to join the team —-

Thank you for your support and more importantly being my friend.
