“We are elated to tell you of our new partnership with Alfred Dunhill London. As of this writing the Davidoff of Geneva Flagship on Madison Avenue and 53rd Street is an official ‘White Spot’ merchant carrying the full line of Pipes, Lighters, and smoking accessories. In searching for partners to round out our accessories business, Dunhill was a logical choice in being a global luxury brand with our same values steeped in quality and craftsmanship. On your next visit to our boutique, I am sure you will be delighted with the new Dunhill section.”
I received an important email yesterday from a good friend, Kevin (Senor Cigar) Bristow of New York’s Grown & Sexy in the City Cigar Group that I want to share with you. For the many of you that know Kevin, you know he is very active in the NYC cigar community, loves creating friendly social environments, and has a good heart (he also loves the Brick House, a great stick).
Anyway, please take a moment to read his email and even pass this page on to your friends, or copy/paste into your own emails.

In October of 2010 I began quite a journey. I began kidney dialysis treatment. On July 24, 2011 I was lucky enough to receive a kidney transplant at St. Luke’s Hospital in Harlem, New York. Now to celebrate my good fortune I will be walking in this years NY Kidney Walk. On Sunday October 14th I will be walking and hope you will walk with me as a member of TEAM SENOR CIGAR.
The numbers surrounding Chronic Kidney Disease are truly staggering:
• Every 5 minutes, someone in the U.S. experiences complete kidney failure.
• More than 87,000 are currently waiting for a kidney transplant.
• Every 2 hours, someone dies while waiting for a kidney.
• 382,000 depend on dialysis to stay alive.
• Early detection can help slow or prevent the progression of kidney disease to kidney failure.
• The National Kidney Foundation has provided free early detection screenings to 155,000 people at increased risk for CKD.
Our Kidney Walk Team has set a goal to raise at least $2000, and I am hoping you will join us. If you can’t walk with me I hope you can make a donation. Use the link to make a donation and/or to join the team —-
What is Añoranza? The newest cigar from Miami Cigar & Company will have many wondering how to pronounce it (Ahn-yor-ahn-za) and what does it mean? The word which is Spanish, means nostalgia; a sense of yearning. Often when we smoke, we reflect on times gone by and look back to a period of our lives we miss and wish we could go back to. This is Añoranza.
The cigars which are made in Nicaragua feature a Nicaraguan Habano Oscuro wrapper, with Nicaraguan grown binder and fillers. They will be available in both 10 count and 20 count boxes in the following sizes.
Robusto ($6.50 MSRP)
Toro ($7.50 MSRP)
Belicoso ($7.80 MSRP)
Gran Toro ($8.50 MSRP)
The cigars which come in a soft box pressed format will debut at IPCPR in Orlando in 2012.
We recently posted a story about how China now represents more than one third of the cigar smokers of the world. And it seems like the cigar industry is beginning to react to that news. Focus Taiwan reports that Honduran cigar manufacturers like Rocky Patel and Don Humo Cigar Company are trying to establish ties with importers. They hope to gain access to the large Taiwanese cigar market, but the long-run goal is direct access to the massive Chinese market.
More good news for cigar smokers looking to protect the premium cigar industry from the pleasure-killing rampage that the FDA has been on for quite some time. TobaccoToday.info posted an article recently explaining that HR 1639 has reached 210 co-sponsors, giving it even more clout in the House of Representatives. That means the resolution needs just eight more supporters to reach a majority in the house.
Still, there are powerful forces against the bill, including both the anti-tobacco lobby AND the major cigarette companies.
